About Balkanske Igre Ensemble Balkanske Igre aims to promote Balkan and Eastern European folklore to the Chicago community and present all people with the opportunity to experience the culture, dance, music and songs we so love. We foster a safe environment to enjoy and learn music and dance and welcome people of any and all ages, interests and backgrounds. To us folklore has no borders. Balkanske Igre & the Chicago Spring Festival Balkanske Igre organizes and performs in the Chicago Spring Festival, an eagerly awaited annual event for Eastern European and Mediterranean music and dance held every spring since 1976 and which draws Balkan enthusiasts from across the US, Canada, and Europe.
